Job description

The Role

We’re looking for a driven Sales Associate who’s ready to build something. This is a new business role—your job is to prospect, connect, and close. You’ll be reaching out to ISPs, cable companies, telephone companies, electric membership cooperatives, and infrastructure providers serving universities, residential developments, MDUs, and municipalities. You don’t need to have done this exact job before, but you do need to be hungry and coachable.

Success in this role requires someone who can quickly build credibility with decision makers, develop genuine long-term relationships, and navigate complex sales environments with confidence. The ideal candidate brings deep industry knowledge, an established network within target market segments, and a track record of consistently winning new business.

If you understand the broadband ecosystem, know the key players, and thrive in a fast-moving growth environment, you’ll be positioned to make an immediate impact.

What You'll Do

• Drive new client acquisition—this is a new business role first and foremost.

• Build and execute a territory sales plan to consistently meet or exceed revenue goals.

• Prospect, qualify, and close deals with ISPs, cable operators, EMCs, municipalities, and related organizations.

• Use a consultative approach to understand what each prospect actually needs and position Southern Fibernet accordingly.

• Generate pipeline through a mix of cold outreach, trade show presence, referrals, and channel partnerships.

• Prepare proposals and take contracts through negotiation and execution.

• Stay close to your accounts through system deployment and launch—you're the face of the company.

• Lead customer meetings, product demos, and executive presentations both on-site and virtually.

• Maintain clean CRM records so pipeline and forecasting are always accurate.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of B2B sales experience with a verifiable track record of hitting or exceeding quota.

• Background in telecom, IPTV, video streaming, or broadband infrastructure sales.

• Comfortable discussing technical concepts with both business and engineering audiences.

• Experience managing a full sales cycle from prospecting through close.

• Proven ability to build trust with owners, C-suite executives, and technical teams.

• Resilient and persistent—someone who handles rejection well and stays focused on results.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for customer visits across the territory.

• Existing relationships with ISPs, cable operators, EMCs, or municipal broadband entities.

• Experience selling SaaS or platform-based solutions in a technology company.

• Familiarity with IPTV middleware, OTT delivery, or streaming protocol fundamentals.

How You Work

• You set your own pace and don’t need someone to manage your calendar.

• You listen more than you talk—and you use what you hear to shape your pitch.

• You can explain a complex platform in plain language without losing the room.

• You’re a natural relationship-builder who plays the long game with key accounts.

• You’re comfortable working remotely and managing a territory with minimal oversight.

• You treat problems creatively—if a standard approach isn't working, you find another one.

What Southern Fibernet Offers

• Competitive base salary with an uncapped commission structure.

• Medical, dental, and vision coverage.

• The opportunity to be an early contributor at a PE-backed company with real growth ahead.

• A team that knows the industry, supports the sales function, and gets out of your way.
