What is a sales development software?

Sales Development Software is a digital tool designed to help sales teams identify, engage, and nurture potential customers (leads) more efficiently. It automates tasks such as lead generation, outreach, follow-up, and tracking interactions, enabling sales representatives to focus on building relationships and closing deals. These platforms often integrate with CRM systems, provide analytics, and help streamline the sales process to increase productivity and conversion rates.

How does a sales development software role typically interact with sales and marketing teams?

Professionals in Sales Development Software roles often serve as a vital link between the sales and marketing teams. They collaborate closely with marketing to understand campaign goals and messaging, while also working with sales to qualify leads and ensure smooth handoffs. Success in this role often requires clear communication, sharing insights on lead quality, and providing feedback on prospect engagement. This collaborative approach helps optimize the sales funnel and drives more effective outreach strategies.

Sales Development Representative (SDR) - SMB

Searchable Limited

Salt Lake City, UT • On-site

$70K - $105K/yr

Full-time

Posted 7 days ago

Key responsibilities

  • Own the top of the funnel for SMB accounts, from first touch to booked demo

  • Run high-volume outbound outreach via email, LinkedIn, and phone, and respond quickly to inbound sign-ups

  • Qualify prospects rapidly to ensure the sales team only engages with valuable demos

Job description

About Searchable
We're building the future of AI-powered search visibility.
As platforms like ChatGPT and emerging AI systems reshape how people discover information, we help brands understand and optimize their presence in this new landscape. Backed by leading investors, we're at a pivotal stage: strong product, early traction, and a rapidly growing market opportunity.
The Role
We're looking for an SDR to own the top of the funnel for SMB accounts across the U.S.
This is a high-velocity role. Inbound sign-ups need a reply in minutes, not days, and the outbound list is long. You'll run more conversations in a week than most SDRs run in a month, and you'll get good at telling within two questions which ones are worth a demo.
You'll be prospecting into a category that barely existed eighteen months ago. The businesses you talk to know AI search is changing how they get found. Most don't know what to do about it, and they don't have an agency or an in-house team to work it out for them. That's the conversation.
You'll be one of our first SDRs in the U.S., with an SDR team already running in London. You'll report to the Head of GTM and work day to day with our U.S. sales team, marketing and leadership.
What You'll Do
  • Own the top of the funnel for SMB accounts, from first touch to booked demo
  • Be the first response on every inbound sign-up and lead. Speed to lead is the job
  • Run high-volume outbound across email, LinkedIn and phone, and get a response where others get ignored
  • Build, test and refine sequences, and kill the ones that don't convert
  • Qualify fast and consistently, so the sales team only takes demos worth taking
  • Partner with marketing on cohort campaigns, webinars and ICP targeting
  • Track your own numbers daily, spot what's working and iterate
  • Feed what you hear back into marketing and product. You'll talk to more prospects than anyone else in the company

About You
We're looking for someone who has done this before, and done it well.
  • Proven track record as an SDR in a high-velocity SaaS sales motion in the U.S.
  • Strong understanding of how small businesses buy software: quickly, on their own timeline and with a close eye on price
  • Comfortable with a high daily volume of calls and emails without the quality dropping
  • Track record of hitting and exceeding meeting and pipeline targets
  • Hands-on with a CRM, a sequencing platform and your own performance data
  • Experience with a qualification framework (BANT or similar)
  • Comfortable in a fast-moving, high-growth environment

You Might Be a Fit If
You sell to pain, not features. You find what's actually broken for a prospect, make them feel it, then position Searchable as the answer.
You qualify out as hard as you qualify in. At this volume, time spent on the wrong lead is the most expensive mistake you can make. You know why an opportunity is worth pursuing, and you walk away when it isn't.
You build the playbook, not just run it. There's no finished SMB playbook for the U.S. yet. You'll write parts of it as you go, and you'd rather do that than inherit someone else's.
You like a scoreboard. Daily numbers and weekly targets. High KPIs don't intimidate you, they motivate you.
Your First 90 Days
  • Day 0: learn the tool and the sell, pair on inbound and outbound with the CEO and Head of GTM, and get your first sequence live in week one
  • Day 14: you're handling inbound on your own and running your own sequences
  • Day 60: you're booking demos the sales team wants to take, at a rate you can forecast
  • Day 90: you're booking [12] qualified demos a month and sourcing

Compensation
  • Base salary $70k base/ $105k OTE
  • Equity in the company
