Job Description:

  • We're looking for a Software Development Engineer to join our Network Engineering team and help build the tools and systems that keep our network infrastructure running at scale.
  • You'll develop automation solutions using Python, Java, and TypeScript to improve network reliability, reduce manual toil, and accelerate deployments.
  • This is a hands-on role where you'll work closely with network development engineers to solve real operational challenges.

What You'll Do:

  • Build and maintain network automation tools and services using Python, Java, and TypeScript
  • Develop APIs and workflows that automate network provisioning, configuration, and monitoring
  • Troubleshoot and debug complex network systems and automation pipelines
  • Create dashboards and alerting to monitor network health and automation reliability
  • Collaborate with network engineers to translate operational needs into software solutions
  • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and on-call rotations
  • Leverage generative AI tools to accelerate development and identify automation opportunities

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science
  • Fundamentals in computer science: object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis
  • Proficiency in Python, Java, or TypeScript
  • Experience with front-end technologies: HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Knowledge of Linux fundamentals
  • Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems, or experience working directly with customers during problem resolution under pressure

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience building network automation tools or working with network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers)
  • Familiarity with network protocols (BGP, OSPF, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP)
  • Experience working with REST API-based services
  • Exposure to infrastructure-as-code tools (CloudFormation, CDK, Terraform)
  • Experience with operational monitoring tools (errors, latency, alarms)
  • Usage of generative AI tools to enhance workflow efficiency, with willingness to learn effective prompting and evaluation practices
  • Ability to identify opportunities where generative AI could improve products, workflows, or customer experiences
  • Purpose of the Team and key projects
  • NX/Teamcenter/ECAD development team is currently operating with critical resource constraints

Top 3 Must Have Hard Skills:
