Job description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Sales Engineer to manage customer relationships, develop new business opportunities, and provide technical sales support for engineered industrial solutions. This position works closely with customers and internal engineering and operations teams to understand application requirements and develop technically sound, commercially viable solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow relationships with existing and prospective customers.
  • Identify new business opportunities, account expansion opportunities, and repeat business.
  • Serve as a technical resource throughout the sales process.
  • Evaluate customer applications, technical requirements, drawings, and specifications.
  • Work with engineering and other internal teams to develop custom solutions based on customer needs.
  • Support development of project scopes, proposals, pricing, assumptions, and exclusions.
  • Participate in pricing discussions and contract negotiations.
  • Maintain sales pipeline, customer activity, and opportunity forecasts within CRM.
  • Conduct customer visits and participate in trade shows and industry events.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less-experienced sales team members.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in technical sales, applications engineering, industrial equipment, automation, manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Experience selling or supporting engineered industrial equipment or custom technical solutions.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of industrial equipment and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Experience managing customer accounts and complex sales opportunities.
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience working with CRM systems and managing a sales pipeline.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Business, or a related technical field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Experience with industrial automation, custom machinery, motion control, lifting systems, power transmission, or similar equipment is a plus.
  • CAD familiarity is a plus.
  • Ability to travel to customer sites, trade shows, and other business-related locations as needed.
