Job description

Join the Mission: Sales Development Representative (SDR)

Location: Portland, OR (Hybrid)

Reports To: VP of Sales and Marketing

Employment Type: Full-Time / Commission Eligible

The Vision: A Seat at the Table for Every Patient

At Linguava, we believe healthcare is a universal right. We are passionate about giving patients a "seat at the table" in their own care, regardless of the language they speak or sign. We aren't just providing interpretation; we are bridging the gap between life-saving medical expertise and the humans who need it most.

The Role: A Strategic “Door Opener”

The Sales Development Representative (SDR) is a high-energy, outbound-focused role responsible for fueling Linguava’s growth by generating and qualifying new business opportunities within healthcare.

As the first point of contact for prospective clients, you will introduce healthcare organizations to Linguava’s hybrid language access solutions—including on-site, VRI, OPI services, and our proprietary SaaS platform. You’ll play a critical role in opening doors, building early relationships, and creating a strong pipeline for our Business Development team.

This role is ideal for someone who is persistent, curious, and energized by navigating complex healthcare systems to create meaningful connections that ultimately support health equity.

What You’ll DoDrive Pipeline Growth
  • Generate and qualify new business opportunities across hospitals, IDNs, clinics, and payer organizations

  • Manage and convert inbound leads into qualified opportunities and, ultimately, new business

  • Execute high-volume outbound outreach through cold calling, email campaigns, and LinkedIn engagement

  • Research and break into new geographic markets as Linguava expands beyond Oregon

Engage and Qualify Stakeholders
  • Identify and map key decision-makers across departments such as Language Access, Procurement, and DEI

  • Conduct initial discovery and qualification to ensure strong alignment before handoff to Business Development Managers

  • Build early-stage relationships that position Linguava as a trusted partner

Manage Pipeline and Insights
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date activity tracking in HubSpot

  • Develop and execute daily and weekly activity plans to ensure consistent pipeline generation

  • Share feedback with Sales and Marketing teams on campaign effectiveness and prospect insights

Who You Are
  • The Door Opener
You’re energized by outbound outreach and know how to quickly build credibility and spark interest—even with hard-to-reach stakeholders.
  • The Strategic Researcher
You take a thoughtful, targeted approach to prospecting—understanding accounts, identifying the right contacts, and reaching out with purpose.
  • The Tech-Fluent Communicator
You can clearly and confidently explain a complex service and technology offering in a way that resonates with busy healthcare professionals.
  • The Relationship Builder
You build trust quickly and authentically, creating positive first impressions that set the foundation for long-term partnerships.
  • The Resilient Executor
You thrive in a fast-paced, high-activity environment and stay motivated through challenges, consistently showing up with focus and energy.
Required Qualifications
  • 1–2 years of experience in B2B sales, lead generation, or a related field

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Experience working with a CRM (HubSpot preferred) to manage outreach and pipeline activity

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • Exposure to healthcare, language services, or related industries

  • Familiarity with interpretation/translation services or language access environments

How You’ll Embody Our Values
  • People First
You approach every interaction with empathy and respect, recognizing the impact of language access on patient care.
  • Doing the Right Thing
You represent Linguava with integrity and professionalism in every outreach and interaction.
  • Pursuit of Progress
You continuously refine your approach, learning from data, feedback, and evolving market needs.
  • Above & Beyond Service
You go the extra mile to create meaningful connections and deliver a strong candidate and client experience.
  • Have Each Other’s Back
You collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, and Account Management to drive shared success.
Why Linguava?

At Linguava, we believe language access is essential to equitable healthcare. Our work directly impacts patients, providers, and communities every day.

We are building a company where linguists take pride in their profession and employees feel connected to a meaningful mission. If you’re looking to grow your career while making a real difference, we’d love to meet you.
