Santa Fe Mazda is a premier automotive dealership representing Mazda in the Northern New Mexico area. We pride ourselves on providing exceptional customer experiences through professionalism, transparency, and teamwork. We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Sales Development Representative (SDR) / Appointment Setter to join our dynamic team and help drive growth by engaging prospective customers and setting qualified appointments for our sales staff.

Position Summary

The Sales Development Representative / Appointment Setter plays a critical role in the dealership’s success by managing inbound and outbound leads, following up on customer inquiries, and scheduling showroom or virtual appointments. This position requires excellent communication skills, a proactive attitude, and a customer-first mindset to build rapport and drive qualified traffic to the dealership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Handle incoming sales inquiries via phone, email, text, and online platforms.

  • Conduct outbound follow-up calls to potential customers generated from marketing campaigns, referrals, and lead lists.

  • Qualify leads through effective questioning to determine customer needs, interests, and buying timeframe.

  • Schedule appointments for the sales team, ensuring all relevant customer details are accurately recorded in the CRM system.

  • Maintain consistent follow-up communication to nurture leads who are not yet ready to purchase.

  • Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to optimize lead conversion and appointment show rates.

  • Track performance metrics such as call volume, appointments set, and conversion rates.

  • Provide exceptional customer service, maintaining a positive and professional demeanor in all interactions.

  • Stay knowledgeable about dealership inventory, promotions, and financing options to effectively communicate value to customers.

 Qualifications & Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.

  • 1–2 years of experience in sales, customer service, or automotive BDC (Business Development Center) preferred.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.

  • Proficient with CRM systems (e.g., VinSolutions, Impel Ai, DealerSocket) and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Ability to handle a high volume of calls and emails while maintaining attention to detail.
