What is a sales development internship?

A Sales Development Internship is an entry-level position where interns learn about the sales process, typically focusing on identifying and qualifying potential customers for a company's products or services. Interns often support sales teams by researching leads, making initial contact through calls or emails, and setting up meetings for senior sales representatives. This role provides hands-on experience in sales strategies, customer relationship management, and communication skills, making it a valuable stepping stone for a career in sales or business development.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a sales development intern, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Sales Development Intern, you typically need strong communication skills, an understanding of basic sales principles, and enrollment in or completion of a relevant degree program such as business or marketing. Familiarity with CRM software like Salesforce, email outreach tools, and lead generation platforms is commonly expected. Proactivity, resilience, and the ability to quickly build rapport help interns stand out in connecting with prospects and supporting the sales team. These skills are crucial for effectively identifying leads, nurturing relationships, and contributing to a company’s sales pipeline growth.

What are some common challenges faced during a sales development internship, and how can I prepare for them?

Sales Development Interns often face challenges such as handling rejection, managing time effectively, and quickly learning about a company's product or service offerings. To prepare, it's helpful to develop resilience, strong organizational skills, and a willingness to learn from feedback. Interns are typically expected to make a high volume of outreach calls or emails and may need to adapt messaging based on customer responses. Collaborating closely with sales and marketing teams, interns can benefit from open communication and seeking mentorship from experienced colleagues.

Job description

About the job

EDEN, House of Art, practices art not just as a presentation but as an integral element of its ethos, offering curated exhibitions, bespoke collector events, and innovative "Art Movements" across various mediums. With 15 iconic locations spanning over 130,000 sq. ft of permanent art spaces globally, EDEN collaborates with leading contemporary artists to provide immersive art experiences. By 2025, EDEN will expand with three new Houses of Art in St. Tropez, Paris, and Miami, solidifying its position as one of the fastest-growing art brands globally. The organization is dedicated to enriching art appreciation and engagement on a global scale.

We’re excited to announce the return of our Learning & Development Internship Program in Miami.

This immersive experience offers emerging talent the opportunity to step inside the world of EDEN, House of Art, gaining hands-on exposure across our Miami gallery location and related events.

Interns will rotate across key areas of the business—from guest experience and sales to operations and logistics—developing a holistic understanding of how a global gallery operates. Please note, this program is focused on general administration and the day-to-day running and operation of the galleries, rather than curatorial or artistic roles.

Along the way, interns will work closely with cross-functional teams, engage with an international clientele, and contribute to the daily rhythm of gallery life.

This program is designed for individuals who are curious, adaptable, and eager to learn in a fast-paced, people-focused environment. Whether your interest lies in operations, hospitality, or business, this is an opportunity to build real-world experience at the intersection of all three.

Includes daily lunch stipend.

If you’re ready to grow, learn, and be part of a dynamic global team, we’d love to hear from you.
