Job description

Venosa was established in 2017 to address the growing demand for quality craftsmanship in producing various precast terrazzo products primarily targeted to the commercial market through distribution channels.  Venosa strives to attain stellar customer satisfaction on every project because our employees are inspirationally committed to our customers and core values.

The Business Development Specialist (BDS) reports to the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) and works closely with all Venosa colleagues in sales, manufacturing, and administration. The BDS will identify, secure, and nurture opportunities within the commercial construction industry. This role will build strong relationships with architects, design professionals, developers, and distributors, promoting Venosa’s products, and driving growth through specifications.


Duties & Responsibilities

Market Research & Strategy

  • Conduct market analysis to identify trends and business opportunities within the architectural industry.
  • Develop strategies and action plans to position Venosa as a valuable partner in customers’ commercial projects.

Client Acquisition & Relationship Management

  • Establish and nurture relationships with architects, developers, distributors, hospitality companies, and other key stakeholders.
  • Serve as a trusted client advisor by understanding their needs and presenting tailored solutions to meet project specifications and goals.

Specification & Project Engagement

  • Develop compelling proposals and presentations to secure new specifications.
  • Assist in placing Venosa’s products with distributors.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver specification requirements from project inception to completion.
  • Contribute to the development of new products and markets.
  • Participate in industry events to leverage relationships, identify prospects, and engage in networking opportunities.

 Performance Monitoring & Reporting

  • Track specifications from project inception to completion, providing product and performance (product and service) feedback to internal teams.
  • Collaborate with the Product Manager and CRO to consistently communicate business and design trends, consumer and trade attitudes, competitive practices, and product performance characteristics.
  • Gather competitor insights to differentiate Venosa’s value in the market.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field preferred, High school diploma required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development or sales, with a focus on the architecture, construction, or design industries.

Industry Expertise

  • Established professional network within the architectural and design sectors.
  • Familiarity with architectural processes, terminology, and project lifecycles.
  • Strong knowledge of architectural/design trends and materials.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and project specifications.

Skills and Attributes

  • Proven ability to build relationships and close deals with architects, developers, and industry stakeholders.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Enjoys prospecting for new projects and cultivating business relationships.

Additional Requirements

  • Willingness to travel up to 70% of the time.
