Job description

Variety Wholesalers is currently seeking a Sales Audit Analyst for its Henderson, North Carolina or Columbus, Ohio location. The Sales Audit Analyst role is responsible for reviewing, reconciling, and validating daily sales transactions to ensure financial accuracy and compliance with company policies. This role will report to the Senior Manager, Sales Audit and works closely with Accounting, Finance, Store Operations, IT, and Loss Prevention to identify discrepancies, resolve issues, and improve sales reporting processes.

Responsibilities:

• Reconcile sales, cash, credit card, gift card, and other tender activity.

• Investigate and resolve discrepancies between point-of-sale (POS) systems and financial records.

• Prepare weekly and monthly sales audit reports.

• Support month-end and year-end close activities.

• Maintain accurate audit documentation and records.

• Collaborate with Operations and IT to troubleshoot POS or system issues.

• Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and strengthen internal controls.

• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and applicable regulations.

• Support special projects, process improvement initiatives, and system enhancements as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree; preference given to accounting and finance majors

• 1–3 years of experience in accounting, auditing, retail finance, or sales audit preferred.

• Experience working with POS systems and ERP software is a plus.

Skills & Abilities:

• Strong Microsoft Excel skills (PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, formulas).

• Experience with JDA, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar financial systems is beneficial.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.

• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
