Overview
Opportunity: Sales & Events Manager
Manage accounts to achieve guest satisfaction and to solicit past and new business ensuring all revenue goals are achieved or exceeded.

Your Focus
  • Interview, select, train, schedule, coach and support associates, ensuring they perform in accordance with established brand or hotel standards and consistent with HHM core values.
  • Maximize revenue by selling all facets of the hotel to previous, current and potential clients.
  • Use professional sales techniques to negotiate the best possible terms and conditions that satisfy customer (internal and external) requirements.
  • Manage accounts ensuring pertinent aspects of solicitation and closing are complete and documented.
  • Coordinate various departments' participation in servicing accounts.
  • Maintain hotel relationships with key accounts to increase customer satisfaction and account revenue.
  • Develop and conduct persuasive verbal sales presentations to prospective clients.
  • Articulate and leverage the benefits of the hotel to close sales opportunities.
  • Travel locally to conduct outside calls, promote the hotel and review competition.
  • Represent the hotel at trade shows.
  • Follow sustainability guidelines and practices related to HHM's EarthView program.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management
  • Oversee all catering sales, targeted towards existing and new corporate and social markets.
  • Drive new events and group business through proactive prospecting and lead generation
  • Qualify and convert inquiries from all channels, including CVENT, Marriott, and direct leads
  • Lead client engagement through site tours, presentations, and ongoing relationship management
  • Negotiate contracts and manage the full RFP process with a focus on profitable outcomes
  • Oversee events from initial inquiry through execution and final billing
  • Provide clear reporting on pipeline, production, and sales activity
  • Develop BEOs, floor plans, and event proposals in partnership with internal teams
  • Collaborate closely with Revenue Management to ensure timely, strategic responses
  • Manage function space inventory and optimize pricing and utilization
  • Coordinate with operations, F&B, and external vendors to deliver seamless events

Your Background and Skills
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Hospitality or related industry preferred.
  • Proven track record in sales required and previous hospitality sales experience preferred.
  • 2-3+ years of experience in event, group sales, or catering within hospitality
  • Experience in a comparable market preferred
  • Strong understanding of event operations, F&B, and space optimization
  • Proven ability to manage multiple events and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication, organization, and client-facing skills
  • Experience with Fosse, CVENT, Salesforce, and Microsoft Office; Canva a plus
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to support events as needed

Work Environment and Context
  • Work schedule varies and may include occasionally working on holidays and weekends.
  • Required to sit for extended periods, lift up to 10 pounds, bend, reach, use hands and fingers to operate keyboard.
  • Moderate travel between hotel and client's locations required.
