Job description

Senior Salesforce Business Analyst

Location: Raleigh, NC
Department: IT / Business Applications

This role will be based in our Raleigh office with the expectation that you will be in office three (3) days per week.ย

About Couchbase

At Couchbase, we empower organizations to harness the power of data with our cutting-edge database solutions. Join our team to be part of a company that thrives on innovation, collaboration, and data-driven decision-making. We're building the future of data, and we want you to help us scale.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Salesforce Business Analyst to be the heartbeat of our Salesforce ecosystem. You won't just be gathering requirements-you'll be the bridge between our business visionaries and our technical team.

In this role, you'll own the translation of complex business challenges into sleek, well-scoped, and actionable solutions. From roadmap strategy to final deployment, you'll stay hands-on, ensuring our developers build with confidence and our stakeholders see real impact. If you love sitting at the center of the action and influencing how we build for the future, this is the role for you.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Architecting Our Roadmap: Partner with leadership to turn strategic goals into a sequenced, high-impact backlog.
  • Managing project delivery: Own the lifecycle of roadmap items from intake to launch, keeping projects moving forward and stakeholders informed.
  • Facilitating Discovery: Lead the conversation with teams across Sales, Finance, Customer Success, Marketing, Legal, and Operations to uncover the "why" behind the request.
  • Crafting Stories: Write clear, testable Jira user stories that developers love-complete with acceptance criteria, context, and edge cases.
  • Leading Sprints: Keep our development cycle running by refining the project backlog and facilitating bi-weekly sprint planning sessions.
  • Guiding the Build: Act as the primary point of contact for developers, offering real-time scope guidance and ensuring the build stays on track.
  • Ensuring Excellence: Conduct UAT, review completed work, and own the integrity of our Salesforce data during month-end and quarter-close.

What You Bring to the Team

The Essentials

  • Experience: Extensive professional experience (7+ years or equivalent) in a Salesforce Analyst or Business Systems Analyst role. You've worked in a hands-on capacity and know how to deliver quality results.ย
  • Proficiency in Jira: You know how to manage a backlog effectively.
  • Technical Fluency: A solid working knowledge of Salesforce configuration-objects, flows, validation rules, page layouts, and security.
  • The Bridge-Builder: You can translate "business-speak" into technical specs and back again without missing a beat.
  • Agile Mindset: You're comfortable in an Agile/Scrum environment and know how to drive a sprint ceremony.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications: Salesforce Admin, Business Analyst, or Advanced Admin credentials.
  • Stack Savvy: Experience with Salesforce CPQ, Revenue Cloud, or quote-to-cash workflows.
  • Systems Knowledge: Familiarity with integrated tools like NetSuite, Workato, ZoomInfo, or LinkedIn Sales Navigator.
