Summary of Position Functions


The Sales Account Manager is responsible for developing a sales strategy and pipeline to sell professional services offerings by Veregy and its subsidiaries. In addition, the Sales Account Manager will be required to achieve a minimum dollar amount of sales per year.


Essential Position Functions

  • Builds and owns market strategies for obtaining and closing new business opportunities including competitive analysis and vertical market and horizontal business development strategies.
  • Delivers a solid pipeline resulting in meeting or exceeding set sales revenue expectations each fiscal year.
  • Analyzes the potential of specific clients and project opportunities while considering changing market conditions.
  • Works independently and as part of the sales team to obtain new project opportunities.
  • Delivers a client-focused message regarding the client’s business, our value proposition, and deliverables.
  • Partners and collaborates with internal and external resources to ensure planning, presentations, and sales deliverables meet timelines and requirements.
  • Utilizes the SalesForce CRM platform and other tools to track and document sales opportunities.
  • Acts as the client’s single point of contact from the initial sales cycle to beyond and facilitates handoffs to other staff as needed.
  • Provides support to the customer with regards to projects, financing, and contracting issues.
  • Prepares presentations, accurate estimates, quality proposals, and fee estimates with support from the technical and marketing teams.
  • Engages in market organizations and conferences to build and maintain brand awareness and business opportunities.
  • Travels to meet with clients or prospective clients; non-work activities to network with clients and prospective clients (i.e., dinner, outings, etc.).

  • Knowledge of facility systems, large project sales processes, and funding alternatives.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specs, contracts, proposals, and estimates.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to explain technical products.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of technical products to be sold.
  • Excellent sales and customer service skills with proven negotiation skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to maintain and grow relationships with clients.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients.
  • Knowledge and experience in the ESCO industry (Energy Services).
  • Experience with the Educational market K-12 & Higher and Municipal.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite and/or related software.
