Kuehne+Nagel is seeking a commercially driven Director, Key Account Development - Healthcare to accelerate growth across the Puerto Rico and Costa Rica healthcare and life sciences markets. This strategic role is responsible for developing and expanding relationships with some of the region's most important healthcare, pharmaceutical, medical device, and life sciences organizations.
We are looking for a highly connected industry professional who understands the local healthcare supply chain landscape and can successfully penetrate these markets with energy, credibility, and a consultative sales approach. You will serve as a trusted advisor to customers, identify new growth opportunities, and drive strategic account development while leveraging Kuehne+Nagel's global logistics network and healthcare expertise.

How you create impact
  • Develop and execute a growth strategy for healthcare and life sciences accounts across Puerto Rico and Costa Rica.
  • Build strong relationships with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, and healthcare customers at multiple organizational levels.
  • Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities to increase market share and revenue.
  • Expand Kuehne+Nagel's presence within assigned accounts through cross-selling and upselling of logistics solutions.
  • Create and maintain a robust sales pipeline while consistently achieving commercial targets.
  • Act as the primary strategic contact for key customer stakeholders and executive decision-makers.
  • Develop tailored logistics solutions that address customer supply chain challenges and business objectives.
  • Lead contract negotiations, commercial discussions, and pricing strategies to secure profitable business growth.
  • Collaborate with regional and global healthcare teams to drive customer engagement and share-of-wallet growth.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive account plans focused on retention, growth, and long-term partnership development.
  • Monitor customer performance metrics and proactively identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure seamless onboarding and transition of new business opportunities into operations.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with customers to evaluate performance, innovation initiatives, and future growth opportunities.
  • Provide market intelligence and insights on healthcare industry trends, competitive activity, and emerging customer needs.
  • Serve as a brand ambassador for Kuehne+Nagel within the healthcare and life sciences community across the region.

What we would like you to bring
  • 5+ years of successful sales, business development, or key account management experience within freight forwarding, logistics, healthcare supply chain, pharmaceutical, or medical device industries.
  • Proven knowledge of the healthcare, pharmaceutical, life sciences, or medical device markets in Puerto Rico and/or Costa Rica.
  • Established network and ability to build relationships with key decision-makers within the local healthcare ecosystem.
  • Strong track record of identifying, developing, and closing strategic business opportunities.
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and executive-level communication skills.
  • Ability to develop consultative, value-based solutions that address complex customer challenges.
  • Experience working with CRM systems, pipeline management, and account planning methodologies.
  • Self-motivated, entrepreneurial mindset with the energy and drive to successfully penetrate and grow local markets.

Base salary is part of a competitive total rewards package that includes health and welfare benefits, a 401k retirement savings plan, tuition reimbursement, and incentive compensation for eligible roles. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, skills, job location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
