Job Description
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The purpose of this job is to plan and supervise the nursing care delivered to acutely ill pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients in designated units in accordance with all standards governing our facility. Maintains overall departmental operations in accordance with the facilities mission and philosophy. Participates and maintains performance improvement activities to assure highest standards of care.
PHYSICAL / MENTAL DEMANDS:
  1. Ability to think and work effectively under stress with frequent interruptions; to move, sit, stand, walk and bend intermittently throughout the workday, lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
  2. Must possess sight and hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these sources to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
  3. Use of mechanical and technical equipment required for the responsibilities assigned.
  4. External and internal applicants who become disabled, must be able to perform the essential job functions either unaided of or with the assistance of a reasonable accommodation to be determined on a case by case basis.
  5. Position has a moderate expected exposure to blood borne pathogens.

Job Requirements
MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
Current License by State Board of Nursing
Current CPR required, ACLS preferred
