Description
Job Summary
Monmouth County Park System is seeking enthusiastic, dependable, and safety-minded Outdoor Adventure Instructors to support our Sailing Programs at Manasquan Reservoir. Ideal candidates are passionate about the outdoors and enjoy teaching, guiding, and inspiring youth and adults through hands-on experiences on land and water.
Applicants may be considered for one or both specialties based on skills and availability
Responsibilities (Based on Assignment)
Sailing Instructor Duties
  • Teach youth and adult sailing lessons (beginner to intermediate)
  • Supervise and assist sailboat rentals
  • Ensure on-the-water safety while building participant confidence
  • Work with American 15' and Laser Pico sailboats
  • Create a welcoming and engaging learning environment

Position Details
  • Season: June-September
  • Location: Manasquan Reservoir, Howell
  • Pay: Starting at $17.10/hour, higher based on experience
  • Schedule: Flexible hours

Qualifications
  • 18 years or older
  • Strong swimming skills and comfort in the water
  • Ability to teach both children and adults
  • Excellent communication and decision-making skills
  • US Sailing Level 1 Certification preferred
  • Hands-on sailing evaluation required
