Description

SAIC is seeking  an experienced  Engineering Technician to join our growing team at the Bedford Production Facility. Candidates must demonstrate expertise in system integration and assembly work and be comfortable working individually or as part of a team.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Complete all assigned tasks as required for the project completion, including though not limited to mechanical system assembly, metal fabrication, electrical system installation, painting, etc...
  • Maintaining readiness of equipment and tools to complete all given tasking.
  • As part of the team, participate in efforts to improve processes and procedures for tasks that meet production and integration objectives.
  • Conduct inspections, tests, evaluations, and document results for equipment and processes, proactively identifying and resolving issues to minimize rework.
  • Duties may include additional logistics work as needed to ensure all items are staged and ready for operational tasks.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Associate degree in a related discipline with a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience, or a high school diploma/GED with at least five (5) years of experience in fabrication. 
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow technical drawings, schematics, and standard operating procedures.
  • Demonstrated skill in fabrication and electromechanical assembly
  • Understand how to select the right tool or process for completing the given tasks and producing the required outcomes.
  • Ability to perform routine work with flexibility for variations in complexity, collaborating with higher-level personnel for guidance when necessary.
  • Organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, with ability to ensure adherence to quality.
  • Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite tools, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
