Loan Systems Engineer
Location: Kokomo or Fishers, IN (Hybrid - 1 remote day/week)
Compensation: $80,000-$90,000 base

Required Qualifications
  • 2-4+ years of experience within lending operations, loan systems administration, or lending technology environments
  • Hands-on experience with loan origination systems, preferably Abrigo/Sageworks and/or Encompass
  • Strong understanding of credit/lending workflows and loan operations processes
  • Experience configuring workflows, loan products, or compliance rules within lending systems
  • Exposure to APIs, integrations, middleware, or systems configuration work
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work directly with business stakeholders
  • Self-starter mentality with the ability to work independently and adapt in a growing environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with CSI loan administration systems
  • Experience integrating lending systems with digital banking or core banking platforms
  • Familiarity with LaserPro or other document generation tools

Position Overview
Our client is seeking a Loan Systems Analyst/Engineer to support and optimize the bank's lending technology ecosystem, with a primary focus on loan origination systems including Abrigo/Sageworks and Encompass. This is a highly visible, hands-on role responsible for configuring workflows, improving automation, supporting integrations, and partnering directly with lending and business teams to streamline operations across the loan lifecycle.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats and wants the opportunity to help build structure and scalability within a growing banking technology environment. The team is looking for a motivated, self-sufficient individual who can work independently, identify process improvement opportunities, and help maximize the value of existing systems and platforms.
This role reports directly to the Director of Digital Strategies & Products and offers long-term growth potential.
Key Responsibilities
Loan Origination Systems & Workflow Optimization
  • Serve as a primary technical resource for loan origination systems including Abrigo/Sageworks and Encompass
  • Configure and maintain loan products, workflows, compliance rules, disclosures, and user permissions
  • Analyze lending workflows and identify opportunities for automation and operational efficiency
  • Improve and optimize lending processes across commercial and consumer lending operations
  • Support system upgrades, testing, troubleshooting, and issue resolution
  • Create and maintain SOPs, technical documentation, and process materials
Systems Integration & Automation
  • Support integrations between loan origination systems and:
    • Core banking systems
    • Digital banking platforms
    • Document generation/eSignature tools
    • Third-party lending and data platforms
  • Work with APIs, middleware, JSON payloads, webhooks, and vendor integrations
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and external vendors to improve data flow and system connectivity
  • Help reduce manual processes through workflow automation and system enhancements
Business Partnership & Lending Operations Support
  • Meet directly with business stakeholders to gather requirements and improve system usability
  • Translate lending and compliance requirements into technical system configurations
  • Support loan operations teams including lenders, processors, underwriters, and closers
  • Identify underutilized functionality within existing platforms and recommend improvements
Compliance, Reporting & Data Integrity
  • Ensure systems align with regulatory requirements including HMDA, CRA, TRID, RESPA, and Fair Lending
  • Support audit requests, reporting validation, and data integrity initiatives
  • Maintain security controls, permissions, and access management best practices
