The Safety Trainer supports the organization's safety culture by developing and delivering training programs that promote safe work practices and regulatory compliance. This role conducts safety orientations, training sessions, and refresher courses for employees across multiple locations. The Safety Trainer partners with operational leaders to identify training needs, maintain training records, and ensure employees are equipped with the knowledge and skills to work safely. Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills are essential for success in this dynamic, people-focused role.

Responsibilities:
  • Deliver safety orientations, onboarding programs, and ongoing training for employees across multiple locations.
    • Develop and update training materials, presentations, toolbox talks, and safety awareness campaigns.
    • Maintain training records, certifications, attendance logs, and compliance documentation.
    • Coordinate training schedules, registrations, and recertification requirements to ensure compliance.
    • Conduct assessments to identify training needs and recommend targeted safety education programs.
    • Support incident investigations by providing training-related insights and corrective action recommendations.
    • Partner with operational leaders to promote safe work practices and reinforce safety standards in the field.
    • Monitor regulatory and industry training requirements and recommend improvements to enhance the effectiveness of the safety program.

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
    • OSHA 500 certification required.
    • Additional education in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Training & Development, or a related field is an asset.
    • 3+ years of experience delivering safety training in construction, manufacturing, industrial, HVAC, or related environments preferred.
    • Strong presentation, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and training record management systems.
    • Ability and willingness to travel up to 75% to support training initiatives across multiple locations.
    • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.
