Job description

Methodist Hospital is looking to hire a Security Supervisor - to join our - team!  Come join us as a Partner for Good and help us make an impact on the care and experience that our patients and their families receive every day. 

Position Summary: 

The Security Supervisor role provides for hiring, training, shift supervision and development of security officer staff to provide for security of the organization, staff and property and staff development. This role supervises the officer staff and shift operations to assure that communications and resources are provided to the department and staff which will assure success. Creates the security scheduling and response to corporate needs, routine and emergent, to ensure that required shift coverage is provided 24/7. The Security Supervisor coordinates the daily operations of the security staff and office to support organizational and department goals and outcomes. This role provides support for departments and staff reporting criminal activity within PNHS properties or misuse of PNHS equipment or services. Leads staff in times of stress; can be counted on for leadership and direction in daily work and emergency events.

Work Schedule: FTE 1.0, 40 hours per week, night shift - 12 hour shifts working 1800 to 0600 hours. 80 hours every two weeks (80.5 total); every other weekend.

Minimum Qualifications: 

One or more of the following other educational or experience related requirements.

  1. Law Enforcement 2/4-year degree or currently in classes.
  2. Military Experience as applicable.
  3. Previous law enforcement experience.
  4. Previous experience in health care security.

Licensure / Registrations / Certification:

  1. CPR Class C Certification
  2. Unrestricted Driver's License, Class C

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Proven proficiency in the operation of computer word processing programs & Microsoft office programs.
  2. Utilization of telephones, pagers and 2-way phone/radios for communications.
  3. Surveillance and monitoring equipment, access systems operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. EMT, First Responder, Fire Training, or Crises Intervention Training.
