Safety & Security Supervisor
Primary Responsibilities: The Course Ambassador is responsible for training, direct and supervise Safety & Security Officers in providing security & emergency response services throughout the properties ensuring that their performance is within the guidelines of Prince Waikiki & Hawaii Prince Golf Course. Follow and enforce all safety & security guidelines and establish Prince Waikiki and Hawaii Prince Golf Course policies & procedures to safeguard all guest & ambassadors. Conduct investigations and ensure that all incidents are accurately documented to ensure incidents of concern are resolved in a timely manner. While conducting these duties the Course Ambassador will also be responsible for some Course martial duties as detailed. All duties will be conducted through the spirit of Lokomaika'i.
Essential Duties:
  • Perform all duties of a Safety & Security Officer.
  • Respond rapidly & efficiently to all crisis events that occur on property in a calm & efficient manner.
  • Required to be available for all shifts for coverage as well as on call for all crisis/emergency situations as needed.
  • Assist the Director of Loss Prevention & Property Operations Managers and oversee the day-to-day operations of the department.
  • Train, supervise and monitor performance, encourage improvement and development on Safety & Security Officers for the efficient operation of Loss Prevention department.
  • Direct and counsel employees under their direction.
  • Ensure the safety and security of all guests & ambassadors, as well as protecting property by enforcing all security & safety guidelines.
  • Initiate investigation, write incident and accident reports, monitor investigations to their timely conclusion and ensure appropriate follow up with guests, visitors, and ambassadors, documenting all contacts.
  • Follow up & approve all incident reports generated for that that or days prior to the end of the shift.
  • Provide feedback to Ambassadors and Director of Loss Prevention on Safety & Security Officers' performances.
  • Create and maintain a culture of service excellence by consistently demonstrating effective behaviors.
  • Maintain confidentiality with respect to guest and employee incidents.

Other Duties:
  • Check with the Pro Shop staff for the day's expected golf play.
  • Make a copy of the Starters Sheet, make sure to update frequently throughout the day.
  • When making rounds on the golf course, stop and talk to each group of golfers as time permits:
  • Notify any violations of policies to Golf Shop Attendant or Golf Pro on Duty.
  • Report any dangerous or unusual circumstances on the course to the Pro Shop Manager or On-Duty Supervisor.
  • Pick up debris on the cart paths, around water coolers, tee boxes, greens and restrooms.
  • While driving through the golf course, ensure that all course rules and regulations are followed by all players.
  • No groups larger than a fivesome.
  • Maximum of two riders and two golf bags per cart.
  • Each player has a set of clubs.
  • Ensure that the dress code is maintained:
  • Slow play is to be handled at the discretion of the Marshall. The following are a few hints for speeding up play:
  • Warn offenders of rules and regulations:
  • Leave a memo for Manager if any unusual circumstances occurred, and/ or if unsafe conditions have arisen so that it may be reported in the morning to the Golf Superintendent.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and requested or deemed necessary by management.

Working Conditions:
  • Majority non-air-conditioned work areas and outdoors.
  • Travel throughout the golf course utilizing a golf cart.

Work Hours:
  • Must have flexible availability and be able to work varied shift/ day including holidays determined by the Director of Loss Prevention; Position shift covers 24 hours a day/ 7 days per week.
  • Overtime work on business needs.

Equipment Use:
  • Ability to use two-way radio.
  • Proficient in the use of a Windows based computer to include Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to use various office equipment including but not limited to calculators, photocopiers, time clock and facsimile machines.
  • Basic knowledge of CCTV.

Mental and Physical Demands:
  • Prioritize & organize workload to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Manage stressful and challenging situations.
  • Able to analyze emergency situations, remain calm & take control and lead other ambassadors.
  • Ability to sit, walk, stand and bend continuously to perform essential functions for the full duration of the work shift. Sit at a desk to complete administrative duties.
  • Ability to carry and lift 50lbs.
  • Ability to multi-task to ensure deadlines are met.

Communication Demands:
  • Ability to effectively communicate in the English language with internal and external guest and Ambassadors.
  • Ability to communicate over the phone or radio.
  • Interviewing skills; writing accurate reports and document investigations.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:
  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of education, training or experience of at least five years that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the position.
  • State of Hawaii Guard industry registration and GDE license are required.
    • You DO NOT need to have a GDE license to be considered. However, obtaining a GDE license within 2 weeks of your start date will be required to pass probation.
  • Ability to multi-task is a must.
  • 2-Years work related experience.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • CPR/AED Certification preferred.
