Diverse Staffing is seeking an experienced Director of Risk Management, Workers' Compensation & Safety to lead our enterprise-wide workers' compensation, safety, claims, compliance, and risk management initiatives. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for protecting our organization, supporting operational growth, and ensuring exceptional claim outcomes across multiple states. The position is based at our Corporate Headquarters in Indianapolis and will oversee risk management operations, including support for Ohio operations and future acquisitions. Licensed adjuster experience is required.

What You'll Do

Workers' Compensation & Claims Leadership

  • Direct workers' compensation strategy from injury prevention through claim closure.
  • Manage self-insured workers' compensation programs and complex litigated claims.
  • Partners with insurance carriers, TPAs, attorneys, and medical providers to improve outcomes and control costs.
  • Analyze claim trends, reserves, loss runs, and exposure data to support business decisions.
  • Lead return-to-work and modified-duty programs.

Risk Management & Compliance

  • Serve as the primary liaison with state agencies, regulators, carriers, and risk partners.
  • Coordinate audits, compliance reporting, regulatory filings, and data requests.
  • Monitor workers' compensation, OSHA, ADA, HIPAA, and FMLA compliance requirements.
  • Support insurance renewals, underwriting submissions, collateral planning, and risk forecasting.
  • Develop executive-level reporting, dashboards, and performance metrics.

Safety Leadership

  • Design and implement company-wide safety programs and policies.
  • Lead incident investigations, corrective actions, and OSHA compliance initiatives.
  • Conduct safety audits and workplace assessments.
  • Provide safety, compliance, and risk management training.
  • Serve as the escalation leader for serious injuries, OSHA-reportable incidents, and high-exposure claims.

Strategic & Operational Leadership

  • Lead and develop Risk Services team members.
  • Establish performance metrics, service standards, and operational procedures.
  • Evaluate vendor performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with executive leadership on risk reduction and business growth strategies.
  • Support acquisitions and expansion initiatives from a risk and safety perspective.


Qualifications

Required

  • Active Adjuster's License
  • 10+ years of workers' compensation claims experience
  • 5+ years of leadership experience
  • Experience managing self-insured workers' compensation programs
  • Experience managing litigated workers' compensation claims
  • Experience working with insurance carriers, TPAs, brokers, and medical vendors
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, ADA, FMLA, HIPAA, and workers' compensation regulations
  • Budget management and financial analysis experience
  • Strong communication, leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to travel as needed to branch locations, hearings, audits, client sites, and investigations
  • Availability to respond to urgent risk and safety incidents when necessary

Preferred

  • Staffing industry experience
  • Indiana and/or Ohio Adjuster's License
  • Experience leading multi-state risk management programs
  • Experience supporting growth initiatives and acquisitions
