Job description

Range Safety Officer: $17/hr + Massive Perks

Are you happiest when you’re outdoors, surrounded by Texas Hill Country views and the sound of a clean break? At Horseshoe Bay Sporting Club, we’re not just looking for "staff"—we’re looking for community pillars. We are hiring Range Safety Officers (RSOs) who want to trade the fluorescent lights of a traditional job for the best "office" in Horseshoe Bay.

We’ve built a culture of "good people" who value safety, respect, and the sporting life. Whether you are a retired professional looking to stay active in the shooting community or a motivated younger enthusiast looking to break into the outdoor industry, we have a spot on the line for you.

The Total Package: Way More Than Just a Paycheck

We know that for a true shooter, access is everything. That’s why we’ve designed a compensation package that treats you like an elite member of the club:

  • Competitive Pay: $17.00 per hour to start.

  • The "All-Access" Pass: You get free private range access on your off-hours. In a club like ours, this is a multi-thousand-dollar value that most people pay high initiation fees to get.

  • Professional Development: Get paid to get better. We provide access to advanced firearms training, RSO certifications, and safety courses to keep your skills sharp.

  • Gear & Ammo Perks: Enjoy staff-only discounts on gear, apparel, and range supplies.

  • Other Club Access: With a long range training facility that has special operations instructors (Packsaddle Precision) and our other Member Club in Dripping Springs with a breathtaking pond, shotgun course, and more bays (Hog Heaven) this is a dream job for anyone looking to improve their shooting or just keep up with their favorite past-time.
  • The Community: You’ll be working alongside special operations veterans, retired LEOs, and outdoor pros. It’s a high-respect environment where you aren’t just a number—you’re the "Safety Captain."

The Role: What You’ll Do

Your mission is to ensure every member has a safe, world-class experience.

  • Vigilant Supervision: Maintain a rock-solid safe environment on the firing line, ensuring all safety protocols are followed with a "safety-first" mindset.

  • Member Concierge: Assist members with lane setups, basic firearm malfunctions, and shooting tips. You are the face of the club on the range.

  • Conflict De-escalation: Handle any safety violations or rule-breaking with a calm, firm, and professional demeanor. We aren't the yelling fear based type.

  • Range Upkeep: Help keep our world-class facilities clean, organized, and running smoothly.

Who You Are
  • The Seasoned Pro: You have years (or decades) of shooting experience. You have a "command presence" but a friendly heart. You love mentoring the next generation of shooters and keeping the standards high.

  • The Disciplined Newcomer: You are 100% reliable, eager to learn, and take safety seriously. You want a job that actually aligns with your passion for the outdoors.

  • The Safety Expert: Bonus points if you already have an NRA RSO certification or a Military/LEO background. If not, we’ll help the right candidate get there.

Ready to join the Horseshoe Bay Sporting Club family? If you’re ready to spend your days in the fresh air with a team that has your back, we want to hear from you.
