Job description

Safety Management Systems is currently looking for a Construction Safety Officer in the El Paso, Texas area.
Local Candidates preferred.
Responsibilities Include:
• Provides expertise and serves as the resource for interpretation of constructions regulations resources to contractors and employees
• Communicate company's policies and procedures to contractors and employees
• Conduct investigations for incidents and injuries. Determine root cause(s) and prepare appropriate corrective actions and documentation.
• Ensure worksite is in compliance with company, state, and federal regulations. Conduct risk assessments and inspections and provide corrective/preventive measures.
• Ensure HSE performance analysis is carried out to identify trends and develops mitigation actions as required.
• Coordinates with contractor and subcontractors to ensure delivery of project safety plans and standards
• Ensure Occupational Health and welfare provisions for workers meet project and Government standards.
Qualified Candidates Will Possess:
  • OSHA 30: required
  • OSHA 500, 501,510, 511 preferred
  • MEWP, Train-the-Trainer (Man lift, scissor lift, backhoe, forklift) a plus
  • CHST/CST a plus
  • Minimum 5 years HSE experience within the construction industry
  • Knowledge and experienced in hazard assessment/risk assessment processes
  • Ability to apply HSE statutes and regulations and company HSE standards.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA construction regulations
  • Excellent communication skills to communicate effectively, in verbal or written forms, with employees, customers, or the general public
  • Excellent organizational skills and problem-solving skills
