Overview

Central Health is the Travis County Hospital District, an organization comprised of multiple entities (Central Health, CommUnityCare Health Centers & Sendero Health Plan) with a focus on providing equitable, quality healthcare to the safety-net population in our local communities across Travis County.We are seeking a motivated and dynamic People Department Intern to join our team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of human resources within a vibrant and evolving organization. The intern will have opportunities to rotate through our HR Centers of Excellence (COEs), potentially including HR Operations, Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Total Rewards, Talent Development, and HR Analytics, gaining broad exposure, and contributing to key projects.The People Department Intern will contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of our HR team, through proactive support and involvement in diverse projects across our Centers of Excellence. This opportunity offers a comprehensive learning experience where the System HR Intern gains invaluable insights into the strategic and operational aspects of HR management, including participation in a large-scale projects, HRIS management, engagement surveys, and data analytics. The successful intern will leave with a well-rounded skill set, a deeper understanding of HR's role in organizational success, and a network of professional contacts, positioning them strongly for a future career in Human Resources. Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Collaborate with various HR team members to understand the interconnectivity of different HR functions.
  • Attend and participate in team meetings and HR-related training sessions.
  • Provide general administrative and operational support to the HR leadership team.
  • Assist with the coordination and execution of HR initiatives and projects across various CoEs.
  • Participate in meetings and collaborative sessions, providing support in note-taking and action item tracking.
  • Facilitate communication and information flow within the HR department and across different CoEs.
  • Support the HR team in the preparation of presentations, reports, and HR documentation.
  • Contribute to the research and analysis of HR trends and best practices to inform departmental strategies.
  • Engage in data entry, record-keeping, and maintenance of HR databases and systems.
  • Offer logistical support for HR events, workshops, and training sessions.
  • Provide assistance in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with different HR team members on ad-hoc projects and tasks as needed.
