Guest Safety Associate
Safe Harbor – Division for Men. The Milwaukee Rescue Mission’s programs for men range from meeting their short-term emergency needs, to providing longer term services that can help them break free from addictions, find and keep a job, build confidence and self-esteem and turn their lives around. All with a spiritual foundation.
The Milwaukee Rescue Mission is looking for a Christian man to fill a full-time, 3rd shift Guest Safety Associate position. This position provides physical security and guest care in Safe Harbor.
Work Schedule: Full Time, 3rd shift: 10:00pm-6:00am, weekends as needed
Hiring Range: $17.53-$18.15/hour + Shift and weekend differential
Location: Main Campus, 830 N 19th Street, Milwaukee, WI. 53233
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensure the safety and security of the Mission, its people and its properties
  • Ensure guests understand and follow premise rules and regulations
  • Conduct regular patrols and inspections of buildings and facilities to identify and report damage and potential security risks
  • Ensure that buildings are secure and that unauthorized persons are prevented from accessing restricted areas
  • Discern potentially volatile situations and act quickly to alleviate any disruptions
  • If necessary, remove or assist in removing any person engaged in suspicious, disruptive, or criminal acts
  • Perform first aid and/or life saving measures if necessary
  • Perform breathalyzer tests
  • Request assistance from emergency personnel for high risk situations
  • Help identify and report any security or maintenance concerns
  • Assist Guest Care Team as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A mature Christian man with a servant's heart who is able to relate well with others in a diverse population
  • High School diploma or equivalent GED required
  • Previous experience in security preferred
  • Familiarity with security equipment and practices preferred
  • First Aid, CPR and AED certification preferred. Willing to be certified within one year of hire.
  • Ability to deal with difficult interactions. Strong conflict resolution skills with the ability to defuse potentially volatile situations with patience and tact.
  • Computer literacy and the ability to navigate industry software
  • Good report writing and communication skills
  • Detail orientated with excellent organization and follow through skills
  • Ability to handle physical workload with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Reliability, dependability, and punctuality are expected
  • Workplace demeanor must be consistent with a Christian environment: civil, respectful, polite, responsive, and de-escalatory, even when physical force is necessary
  • Be in agreement with and subscribe to the MRM Statement of Faith and the MRM Statement of Biblical Convictions
  • Be a committed follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, which is evident in personal testimony and Christian conduct
  • Pass a pre-employment background check and drug test
