What You'll Doย 

As a Yard Associate,ย you'llย play a vital role inย maintainingย efficient yard operations while delivering exceptional customer service.ย You'llย work closely with customers, drivers, dispatch, and store teams to ensure materials are received, stored, loaded, and delivered accurately and safely.ย 

Customer Service & Order Fulfillmentย 

  • Assistย walk-in retail customers, contractors, and business-to-business customers with material selection and loading.ย 

  • Provide outstanding customer service and represent Bliffert professionally during every interaction.ย 

  • Pull customer orders accurately and prepare materials for pickup or delivery.ย 

  • Process credit returns and materialย returnsย with attention to detail.ย 

  • Recognize customer satisfaction concerns and proactively resolve issues related to loaded materials.ย 

  • Communicate effectively with customersย regardingย orders, products, and yard operations.ย

Yard Operations & Material Handlingย 

  • Work with Dispatch and store management toย maintainย the daily flow of yard and delivery operations.ย 

  • Keep loads pulled, staged, and ready for delivery trucks as they return forย additionalย runs.ย 

  • Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently while properly handling building materials.ย 

  • Verify that incoming materials are inspected, counted, and checked for damage.ย 

  • Ensure incoming and outgoing shipmentsย matchย purchase orders in quantity and quality.ย 

  • Organize, stock, and move lumber and building materials throughout the yard.ย 

  • Assistย at other company yard locations as needed to support business operations.ย 

Equipment & Inventory Managementย 

  • Safelyย operateย forklifts and other approved equipment to move materials.ย 

  • Use power tools, saws, and cutting equipment safely to perform rough cuts and material preparation.ย 

  • Maintainย accurateย inventory through proper receiving, stocking, and material movement practices.ย 

  • Read measurements accurately andย utilizeย measuring tools and equipment.ย 

  • Support inventory control by ensuring productsย areย stored properly and accessible for customer orders.ย 

Safety & Yard Maintenanceย 

  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and operational guidelines.ย 

  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe yard, warehouse, and storage areas.ย 

  • Perform general housekeeping and landscaping duties throughout the yard.ย 

  • Lift, carry, and move building materials safely while following proper lifting techniques.ย 

  • Report safety concerns, accidents, equipment issues, or workplace injuriesย immediatelyย to management.ย 

  • Help create a safe working environment for customers, team members, and delivery personnel.ย 

Pay Rangeย 

$20.00 - $23.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.ย
