Safety Associate

Regular Full-Time Grand Island, NE, Grand Island, NE, US 1 Attachments

This position is responsible for supporting the development, implementation and maintenance of comprehensive safety, environmental and Department of Transportation programs at Beckโ€™s Hybrids. This positionโ€™s goal is to protect the health and safety of employees, customers and public while ensuring compliance with all federal, state and local regulations. The role will have an office at ourPhillips, NE location. This position is part of the safety department and reports to our Safety Director located at the Atlanta, IN headquarters.

Responsibilities
  • Regularly inspects facility operations to ensure that safe job practices are followed, protective equipment is properly utilized, and all required machine / process guards are in place and operational
  • Inspects Fire Extinguishers, eye washes, first aid kits, and other assigned monthly/frequently required inspections.
  • Trains and instructs all current and new employees on job appropriate safe practices
  • Maintains the Beckโ€™s DOT program in order to ensure compliance with all federal regulations.
  • Regularly inspect, record issues, and report to safety department any and all Safety, Health, Environmental, and/or any other possible problems at any property or employee of Beckโ€™s
  • Communicate with Safety Department on all areas of business
  • Communicate with location leads, and any other employees concerning Safety, Human Relations, and/or any other needs
  • Perform other duties as required
Job RequirementsEducation and training
  • High School or College degree required
  • Certification in First Aid and CPR
  • Minimum Chauffeur License preferred
Technical Requirements
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT and company safety policies and regulations
  • Bi-lingual in English and Spanish is a plus, but not required
Experience
  • Two years experience in the health and safety field preferred
Travel
  • This role will require some travel throughout the year to meet business needs. August is a busy month traveling to our Field Shows throughout the country.
