Position Summary

Implement the compliance aspect People Based Safety in each manufacturing facility. The safety specialist will use proactive safety techniques to ensure compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate employee safety training with Operations management.

  • Conduct daily safety and health walk-through inspections of workplace facilities.

  • Implement and facilitate proactive and compliance safety training plans and content objectives.

  • Complete facility inspections and participate in producing corrective actions.

  • Participate in the completion of job hazard analysis.

  • Develop and evaluate eight step procedures for energy control.

  • Serve as coordinator for the Safety Committee .

  • Prepare injury/illness and noninjury incident investigation reports and follow up as necessary.

  • Other responsibilities as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Associate's Degree required, at least 4-6 years of relevant full-time work experience or a relevant combination of both. Direct training experience is highly desirable.

  • Strong process orientation and ability manage multiple priorities.

  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to lead group discussions and build knowledge.

  • Excellent organizational skills and computer proficiency in MS Office required.

Physical Demands

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle, reach with hands and arms, see, talk and hear. The employee is required to stand, walk, stoop or kneel. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud. All applicants must have the ability to stay at work station and area for three continuous hours.
