REPORTS TO: Facilities Service Manager.

Job Summary

Safety Associate under the supervision of the Facilities Service Manager will help provide a Safe and Secure environment to members, guests and staff of the Ray & Joan Kroc Community Center of Chicago. These responsibilities include ensuring that all policies and procedures are followed by everyone in the building. Be a first responder to emergencies and they arise. Perform duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Facilities service manager. Maintain acceptable grooming standards in accordance with The Salvation Army/Ray and Joan Kroc Center directives and policy. Our Ideal candidates are detail oriented, physically fit, and able to work efficiently under pressure. They should have experience working in a fast-paced environment and be able to work both independently and as part of a team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

Areas of responsibility included are not limited to the following:

  • Enforce all Salvation Army/Ray & Joan Kroc Center policies and procedures.
  • Always remain alert and vigilant
  • Follow safety guidelines to ensure all staff and guests are safe.
  • Interact with staff, members and guests in a positive professional manner.
  • Greet all guests and patrons as they enter the building.
  • Report on any safety concerns that arise to the Facilities Service Manager
  • Monitors, secures, and restricts building ingress and egress as needed.
  • Perform safety checks, participate in drills and respond to emergencies as they arise.
  • Perform wanding or operate metal detectors as needed.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: Basic understanding of safety and security, customer service, Familiarity with safety guidelines and regulatory requirements.
