What is a sabbatical?

A sabbatical job refers to a temporary role or position that someone takes while on a career break or extended leave from their primary job. This could be freelance work, consulting, volunteering, or short-term contracts that align with personal or professional growth during the break. Some companies offer formal sabbatical programs where employees take time off to recharge, learn new skills, or pursue passion projects. A sabbatical job can help maintain income, gain new experiences, or transition into a different career path.

How can I effectively plan for a sabbatical to ensure a smooth transition back to my role?

Planning for a sabbatical involves clear communication with your employer, ensuring your responsibilities are covered, and setting expectations for your absence and return. It's helpful to document ongoing projects, delegate tasks, and provide handover notes to your colleagues or temporary replacements. Before your leave, discuss with your manager about any re-onboarding or catch-up processes upon your return, and stay informed about company updates to ease your transition back into the workplace.

  • Educate peers on new activation and insight methods.
  • Support internal teams in maximizing the value of media mix models through education and guidance.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to create marketing solutions and value‑add plays.
  • Structure and communicate complex analytic requests in a clear, focused manner.
Qualifications

  • Experience within the marketing industry, preferably digital marketing.
  • Thrives in ambiguous situations.
  • Preferred: Experience with digital marketing analytics software (Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, ViQ, etc.).
  • Experience in in‑marketing testing for marketing investments (e.g., incrementality tests using geographical or customer holdouts).
  • Experience using Sequel or similar tools to gather data or run analytics.
  • Experience with MMM or MTA marketing models.
  • Experience partnering with high‑level partners (Directors, VPs, CMOs, CFOs, etc.).
Compensation

Pay Transparency: Salary range for this position is $75,000 to $93,000, inclusive of a 15% annual bonus.

Benefits

  • 401(k) match program.
  • Top‑notch health insurance, inclusive of same‑sex partners.
  • Family formation benefits, including fertility, pregnancy, and parenting reimbursement.
  • Monthly stipend for mobile phone and data plan.
  • Sabbatical program.
  • Charitable giving with financial match.
