Job description

STS Aviation Services is hiring Aircraft Quality Control Inspectors in Melbourne, Florida. This is an opportunity to join a leading Part 145 MRO supporting commercial and large regional aircraft maintenance operations.
If you hold a valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant certificate and have strong aviation inspection experience in an MRO environment, we want to hear from you.
Position Overview
The Quality Control Inspector reports directly to the Chief Inspector and is responsible for ensuring aircraft maintenance and alteration activities comply with FAA regulations, company procedures, and industry standards.
This role supports incoming, in-progress, and final inspections while maintaining clear documentation and communication across shifts.
Classification: Non-Exempt / Full Time
Location: Melbourne, Florida
Required Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma required; some college preferred
  • FAA certificated under 14 CFR Part 65
  • Valid and current FAA Airframe & Powerplant License
  • Minimum of three years of aviation inspection experience in an MRO environment
  • Experience working on commercial and large regional aircraft
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable FAA regulations
  • Proficient in inspection methods, techniques, practices, aids, equipment, and tools
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with Production Supervisors to determine daily inspection priorities
  • Provide and document On the Job Training for inspection and maintenance personnel
  • Perform receiving inspections as authorized by the Chief Inspector
  • Conduct incoming and preliminary inspections
  • Perform in-progress and final inspections
  • Ensure Shift Turnover Reports are completed and filed daily
  • Initiate Suspect Unapproved Parts reports as required
  • Initiate Service Difficulty Reports as required
  • Conduct in-process audits
  • Perform internal audits
  • Complete additional duties as assigned by the Director of Quality or Chief Inspector

Nature of Work
  • Report directly to the Chief Inspector
  • Work in, on, and around aircraft undergoing maintenance or alteration
  • Perform duties in a hangar facility and on the ramp
  • Operate in a potentially high-stress environment
  • Some travel may be required
