Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Warehouse Operator plays a crucial role in the distribution process by ensuring efficient handling, movement, and storage of materials and products. Core Responsibilities include but are not limited to loading and unloading materials, order picking (case pick), organizing inventory, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. This position is vital to meeting on-time shipping and order accuracy requirements and contributes to the overall success of the distribution operation.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Receive incoming goods from dock and transport to appropriate warehouse location according to part/order number.
  • Retrieve goods from warehouse location according to pick sheets order forms, loading trucks in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Perform inventory audits and organize warehouse to ensure proper placement of goods.
  • Complete company training and attain certification to operate heavy equipment to receive and transport goods. (Warehouse Operator I position requires certification to drive standard forklift and Combi lift)
  • Physical material handling, including individual case picking.
  • Maintaining safety of handling the machinery while maneuvering throughout the warehouse and loading docks.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Must have valid driver's license
  • Ability to pass company required training and certification for forklift license
  • 1-2 years' experience as a forklift driver
  • Some basic math skills (for inventory counts)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Physical demands may include standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, climbing, pushing/pulling, forward bending, reaching, kneeling, crouching, squatting, crawling, postural balancing, manipulating, trunk rotation, handling, gripping, and talking (hearing).
  • Must be able to lift 80-100lbs with assistance.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided and is required to be worn daily.
  • Involves working in a warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels.

Work Environment
The atmosphere is that of a manufacturing/warehouse environment. Employees must wear Personal Protective Equipment that is issued for that location. Temperature can range from extreme cold to extreme heat. Physical demands may include standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, climbing, pushing/pulling, forward bending, reaching, kneeling, crouching, squatting, crawling, postural balancing, manipulating, trunk rotation, handling, gripping, and talking (hearing).
