Job Title: Senior Web Developer
Task Order: HBITS-07-14332
Agency: State of New York – Office of Information Technology Services (ITS)
Location: Hybrid – Albany, NY

Position Overview
As part of the New York HBITS initiative, the Senior Web Developer will enhance and support Drupal-based enterprise sites. You’ll deliver responsive, accessible, and NYS-standards-compliant experiences, building custom modules/themes and integrating search and platform tools (Acquia, SOLR/SearchStax). Expertise in PHP, JavaScript/jQuery, HTML5/CSS3/SASS, Git, and cross-browser testing is required.
 
Responsibilities
  • Ensure all Drupal websites are usable, accessible, responsive, and compliant with NYS standards and best practices.
  • Use the enterprise Drupal platform to deliver secure, scalable features using current technologies and industry best practices.
  • Develop custom modules, themes, and both front-end/back-end functionality.
  • Build with PHP, JavaScript/jQuery, HTML/CSS/Twig; manage code with Git.
  • Configure and optimize Acquia, SearchStax, and SOLR for robust site search.
  • Perform cross-platform compatibility testing and resolve UI/UX issues.
 
Qualifications
  • 5 years and 4 months of experience in custom Drupal module development including modules, features and themes.
  • 4 years of experience in using Acquia, SearchStax, SOLR.
  • 4 years of experience in using standard Drupal modules such as: CTools, Views, Panels, and extending them through code.
  • 5 years and 4 months of experience HTML/5, CSS/3, SASS
  • 5 years and 4 months of programming experience with PHP
  • 5 years and 4 months of experience Web graphical, browser, and cross-platform compatibility testing and creating sites with responsive design.
  • 4 years of experience in using GIT
  • 5 years and 4 months of programming experience with JavaScript, jQuery
