RiteChoice Pharmacy is a fast-growing independent 340B pharmacy that partners with community health centers and providers across Philadelphia and surrounding areas. Our mission is to provide fast, friendly, and affordable services to the communities we serve.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and organized bilingual-Spanish Pharmacy Technician who can make our patients feel at home with our pharmacy. Familiarity with the 340B program is a plus, but we will teach you everything you need to know to be successful. OVERVIEW
The Pharmacy Staff Technician at RiteChoice Pickup Pharmacy ensures efficient, accurate, and compliant Rx Pickup operations. This role includes medication dispensing, patient engagement, communication with health center providers, and coordination with internal teams to ensure the timely delivery of medications. Acting as the face of Rx Pickup, the Pharmacy Technician educates patients, fosters trust, and drives patient satisfaction by delivering exceptional service.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Medication Dispensing
  • Verify patient eligibility within the RiteChoice network prior to dispensing.
  • Enter new patient information and update demographic details accurately.
  • Type patient scripts with precision, ensuring correct dosage and labeling.
  • Process patient refill requests and conduct comprehensive profile reviews.
  • Process prescriptions with insurance companies, resolving coverage issues promptly.
  • Collect and record patient co-pays, maintaining financial accuracy.

Patient Engagement
  • Communicate and coordinate with patients and health center providers to ensure clarity on medication needs and adherence.
  • Educate patients on proper medication use and RiteChoice services, including home delivery options.
  • Recruit new patients through educational outreach and promoting RiteChoice services.
Coordination and Communication
  • Serve as a liaison between RiteChoice Pharmacy and health center providers to streamline workflows and maintain compliance.
  • Coordinate medication delivery schedules with the Pharmacy Manager and patients to meet delivery timeframes.
  • Lead coordination efforts with pharmacy couriers to ensure timely delivery from central fill locations to dispensaries or patientsโ€™ homes.
  • Maintain open communication with pharmacists regarding patient care and medication needs.
  • Operational Excellence
  • Display and distribute educational materials to enhance patient understanding of RiteChoice services.
  • Monitor and report on RX Pickup Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Ensure cleanliness, organization, and safety within RiteChoice Pickup.
  • Independently manage daily Rx Pickup operations while aligning with company protocols.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree, Medical Assistant certification, or equivalent relevant experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of pharmacy staff technician experience preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred for optimal patient communication.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to educate and build rapport with patients.
  • Familiarity with healthcare systems, insurance processes, and 340B program compliance.
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel, with excellent data entry skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. and perform occasional travel between RiteChoice locations.
