Job description

This pharmacist role is centered in a long-term care pharmacy setting, specializing in the care of geriatric patients. The pharmacist will oversee medication dispensing and prescription review while ensuring regulatory compliance and upholding high standards of quality assurance. This position includes supervising pharmacy technicians and managing the pharmacy team, with a focus on using the Framework LTC software to optimize operations and patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Dispense medications accurately for long-term care patients
  • Review prescriptions to ensure appropriateness and compliance
  • Maintain adherence to regulatory standards within the pharmacy
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and manage pharmacy team workflows
  • Provide drug information and support for geriatric care
  • Implement quality assurance processes to improve patient outcomes

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in pharmacy, preferably long-term care
  • Valid pharmacist license
  • Strong pharmaceutical knowledge and regulatory compliance expertise
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with inventory management
  • Proficiency with Framework LTC software
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a healthcare team
