Job description

Streamside Parks is focused on acquiring, improving, and operating RV Park Resorts amp; Campgrounds, primarily throughout the Southeast. With a focus on stable properties with long-term occupants and strategic, desirable locations, we strive to provide solid returns to our investors AND operate campgrounds that delight our residents and campers.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The RV Resort Chef is responsible for leading the daily food service operation by planning menus, creating meal schedules, preparing high-quality meals, managing food inventory, and maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen. Working closely with the Resort Manager, the RV Resort Chef creates a welcoming dining experience that enhances guest satisfaction and supports the overall hospitality experience at the resort.
This position is responsible for maintaining food quality standards, controlling food costs, ensuring compliance with all applicable food safety and sanitation regulations, and providing exceptional service to guests, residents, and team members.
This is a part-time seasonal Work Camping opportunity. The position is expected to operate annually from October 1 through April 30, with exact dates subject to operational needs. The selected candidate will reside on-site in their personal recreational vehicle (RV) as part of Streamside Parks Management's Work Camping Program. Campsite accommodations and applicable work camping benefits are provided in accordance with Company policy.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
  • Lead the daily operation of the resort's food service program.
  • Develop seasonal and weekly menus that provide quality, variety, and value while supporting the resort's hospitality standards.
  • Create meal schedules based on occupancy, guest demand, resort activities, and seasonal events.
  • Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, dinner, and specialty meals in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure food quality, presentation, consistency, and portion control standards are maintained.
  • Order food, beverages, and kitchen supplies while maintaining appropriate inventory levels.
  • Monitor food costs and operate within established budget guidelines.
  • Receive, inspect, and properly store food and supplies.
  • Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen, dining, food preparation, and storage areas.
  • Inspect kitchen equipment and promptly report maintenance or repair needs to the Resort Manager.
  • Coordinate meal service for holiday weekends, themed dinners, guest appreciation events, and other resort activities.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by interacting professionally with guests and accommodating reasonable dietary requests whenever practical.
  • Collaborate with the Resort Manager to develop food service offerings that enhance the guest experience and support resort programming.
  • Ensure compliance with all Company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Assist with opening and closing the seasonal food service operation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Resort Manager.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience as a chef, cook, or in a commercial food service environment preferred.
  • Experience developing menus, meal schedules, and preparing meals for groups.
  • Working knowledge of food safety, sanitation, inventory management, and kitchen operations.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
  • ServSafe® Food Protection Manager Certification preferred, or the ability to obtain certification upon hire.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive motions.
  • Safely operate commercial kitchen equipment.
  • Ability to work in hot kitchen environments and outdoor resort settings as needed.
