United by a common core, students are challenged to become world class thinkers, capable of engaging ideas using multiple languages and cross-cultural perspectives, through an internationally benchmarked curriculum spanning each language village.
Summary:
The Student Services Coordinator provides leadership, guidance, and oversight for student support services to ensure high-quality programming and professional practices for students with specialized academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs. This position builds the capacity of Student Support Services staff through coaching, collaboration, professional development, and program oversight while supporting school leaders in the implementation and evaluation of student support initiatives that increase student achievement and promote positive outcomes for all learners.
The Coordinator works collaboratively with administrators, teachers, special education teams, related service providers, families, and community partners to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and to develop effective systems of support for students with disabilities and other intensive learning needs, including Section 504 accommodations and services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with, coach, and support Student Support Services teams in developing and implementing high-quality specialized instruction and evidence-based interventions for students with disabilities and other unique learning needs.
  • Provide guidance and support to school administrators and student support staff regarding programming, service delivery, compliance, and professional practices.
  • Coordinate and oversee Section 504 processes, including referrals, evaluations, eligibility determinations, accommodation plans, annual reviews, and compliance documentation.
  • Serve as the school resource regarding Section 504 requirements and ensure implementation of accommodations and supports for eligible students.
  • Collaborate with teachers, families, counselors, nurses, and administrators to monitor the effectiveness of Section 504 plans and student supports.
  • Review and evaluate Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), behavior plans, Section 504 plans, evaluations, and related documentation to ensure compliance with school procedures, state rules, and federal regulations.
  • Support the development and implementation of a continuum of services designed to increase student achievement, engagement, and graduation outcomes for students receiving specialized services.
  • Assist school leadership with monitoring and oversight related to state performance indicators and compliance requirements.
  • Facilitate professional development and ongoing training related to special education practices, Section 504 compliance, behavioral supports, instructional strategies, state rules, and federal regulations.
  • Assist in collecting, analyzing, and utilizing data to evaluate programs, identify areas for improvement, and support school initiatives.
  • Collaborate with families, staff, and outside agencies to coordinate services and promote student success.
  • Support student intervention processes, problem-solving teams, and behavioral support systems.
  • Work with families and staff to write and implement 504 and MLL plans for students.
  • Promote positive relationships and collaborative communication among students, families, staff, and community stakeholders.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student and staff information in accordance with applicable laws and policies.
  • Participate in school meetings, leadership teams, professional learning opportunities, and school events as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Technical Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of evidence-based programming, instructional practices, and service delivery models for students with disabilities, at-risk students, and students with intensive academic and behavioral needs.
  • Strong knowledge of Section 504, IDEA, ADA, and other applicable state and federal laws related to student services and accommodations.
  • Strong understanding of special education laws, procedures, compliance requirements, and best practices.
  • Demonstrated leadership, facilitation, coaching, conflict resolution, and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and responsibilities in a fast-paced educational environment.
  • Ability to build positive and productive relationships with students, families, staff, and community partners from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment.
  • Proficiency with student information systems, data systems, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace.

  • Ability to promote and follow Board, authorizer, school, and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Ability to recognize and maintain safe workplace practices and report unsafe conditions appropriately.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Educational Leadership, Special Education, or a related field required.
  • Valid Colorado Special Education Teacher, Special Services Provider, or Administrator License preferred.
  • Experience coordinating or supporting Section 504 processes preferred.
  • Experience coordinating Gifted and Talented and ELL programs preferred.
  • Experience in administration, special education leadership, or related student support services preferred.
  • Experience working with students with significant academic, behavioral, and/or social-emotional needs required.
  • Experience supervising or leading teams preferred.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check required.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and move throughout school buildings for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to operate standard office and instructional equipment.

Work Environment
  • School-based setting with regular interaction with students, staff, and families.
  • Occasional evening meetings and events may be required.
