California State University, Los Angeles, invites applications for the above Administrator II position.
The University: California State University, Los Angeles (Cal State LA) is one of 22 campuses within the California State University system. The Position: Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Alumni Relations, the Director of Annual Giving will create, establish, implement and manage a comprehensive annual giving program and have oversight of the Cal State LA Fund. The incumbent will oversee the phonathon program and will develop programs and activities to expand participation among constituencies to increase unrestricted financial support for the university's priorities. They will carry a portfolio and cultivate annual giving prospects and donors, responsible for soliciting and stewarding them for annual gifts to the university. The incumbent will be responsible for budget management and oversight of the Annual Giving program and the Annual Fund, including tracking financial data, operation expenses, and projecting giving trends. The incumbent will represent and promote the Cal State LA Fund as a liaison to donors and prospects, communicating program objectives through written materials, email, various social media applications (such as giving platforms), telephone contact and personal visits, as needed. The incumbent will collaborate with colleagues within University Advancement to encourage and foster engagement and identify donors who can advance the university's fundraising priorities.
Required Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or four-year college or university and five years of experience in telemarketing or tele fund raising. Experience working with volunteers. Experience creating and managing an operating budget. Thorough knowledge of: English grammar, spelling, and punctuation; office systems and equipment; and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Familiarity with social media campaigns, such as crowdfund and similar platforms. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. Excellent organizational skills and possess strong attention to detail. Must be able to: track financial data, operational expenses and make projections; draft and compose correspondence and standard reports; plan, organize, coordinate, and prioritize multiple tasks; and use independent judgment. Must have the ability to learn, identify and independently interpret and apply a variety of complex policies and procedures, and effectively handle a broad range of interpersonal contacts. Must have experience or the ability to learn database or donor management software, such as Raiser's Edge. Must have experience or the ability to learn phonathon software systems such as Ruffalo Noel Levitz (RNL) Engage, and Crowdfunding. Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times. Incumbent must demonstrate an interest or ability in working in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or continued employment of current CSU employees who may apply for the position.
California State University, Los Angeles, as part of the CSU system, is a State of California Employer. Desired Qualifications: Previous experience working within an Annual Fund department or in a fundraising operation in a higher education environment. Working knowledge of an alumni database or Raiser's Edge/NXT; working knowledge of Ruffalo Noel Levitz (RNL) Engage, and Crowdfunding. Experience managing volunteers. Knowledge of independent database systems policy and support.
Compensation: Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Salary range is $5,053 - $16,221/monthly. (Budgeted Hiring Salary $5,053-$7,500/Monthly). A comprehensive benefits package is provided.
Appointment: The Administrator II appointment will be made under the guidelines for management and supervisory employees of the California State University. All rights and benefits associated with this appointment are governed by the Management Personnel Plan.
This position is a "designated position" in the California State University's Conflict of Interest Code. The successful candidate accepting this position is required to file Conflict of Interest forms subject to the regulations of the Fair Political Practices Commission.
