Job Summary
The Head Varsity Track & Field Coach is responsible for organizing, leading, and supervising the high school track & field program. Duties include planning practices, coaching student-athletes in sprint, distance, jump, and throw events, managing meet-day operations, and fostering a positive, competitive, and educational athletic environment in accordance with CIF and district policies.
Essential Duties
- Plan and conduct daily practices during the spring season
- Coach and develop student-athletes in track & field events
- Supervise athletes at all practices, meets, and team events
- Coordinate with assistant coaches and athletic director
- Ensure compliance with CIF Southern Section rules
- Monitor athlete academic eligibility and sportsmanship standards
- Manage equipment and team organization
- Promote safety, injury prevention, and proper training techniques
