Job description

Position Summary

Operate rubber molding, transfer, and compression presses to produce quality molded rubber components according to work orders, specifications, and established production procedures.  Operate molding equipment, load molds, and materials, monitor press cycles, and make basic adjustments to ensure consistent part quality.  Inspect finished parts for defects, trim, and finish components as required, and complete necessary production and quality documentation.  

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude.
  • Must be able to perform all physical aspects of the job which includes but is not limited to being able to lift / push / pull about 30 lbs. and stand 8 hours a day.
  • Must be familiar with all aspect of automatic operations of a mounted rubber mold.
  • Must be able to read and write, read gram scales and perform basic shop math.
  • Must be able to read and understand an OD sheet to perform work in reference to machine set-up, and job specific information.
  • Do required maintenance of equipment within the scope of their training, experience, and capabilities.
  • Maintain product integrity and quality of molded product by checking all aspects of quality for finished product and filling out all required documentation.
  • Responsible for proper set-up, identification, storage, packaging, and transportation of finished product.
  • Responsible for organization and proper storage of any tools.
  • Must be willing and able to perform other duties as assigned by Group Leader or Team Leader.
  • Must be familiar with using a computer to perform common business orientated tasks (i.e. QAS, Excel, Word, and operation measuring equipment.)
  • Must have high attention to detail and high standard of quality. 
  • Understand the need for cleanliness in the work environment and be willing to follow requirements to achieve / maintain it.
  • Actively participate on the HPT. (High Performance Team)

Qualifications

  • Must demonstrate a strong safety work culture.  Be able to recognize potential safety hazards.  Work safely in the environment and be a safety role model.  

  • Be able to read and follow basic work instructions

  • Basic computer skills

  • Math skills are required

  • Work as a respectful team member

  • Good attendance history

  • Be able to work independently

  • Be able to work in a team setting

  • High School Diploma is preferred or at least 3 years related work history
