Job description

Position: Chemical Engineering Internship
Location: Nazareth, PA

SIGN-ON BONUS

We are seeking students that reside in the greater Lehigh Valley area for a Summer 2026 Chemical Engineering Internship based out of our Corporate Headquarters in Nazareth, Pennsylvania with intentions of future employment. This is an opportunity to learn and become part of a very progressive company with tremendous opportunity for growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform rubber and urethane testing both Tensile and Din Abrasion
  • Review and develop standard operating procedures for urethane and rubber manufacturing
  • Create a user's manual for new Rubber/Urethane employees to follow with detailed procedural instructions and photographs
  • Work with marketing to develop new urethane products
  • Work on establishing new clients for the rubber/urethane products
  • Review current usage of both materials and give projected usage over the next 5 years
  • Review department needs for future projected production
  • Ensure all jobs and projects are performed safely, on time and with the highest level of quality workmanship
  • Keep up the workflow of everyday process in division
  • Adhere to ASGCO Quality Assurance and Safety Standards
  • Report to Management if there is to be maintenance on any machinery in the department
  • Required to do other projects as requested by Management due to business necessity
  • Opperate a company vehicle
  • Be a safe and motivated team player

Requirements:

  • Actively working towards a Chemical Engineering degree in an accredited college or university
  • Strong MS Office skills and experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a DOT Certification
  • Can lift up to 100lbs, bending, kneeling, reaching and standing for long periods of time, significant fine finger dexterity

Working Conditions:

  • Frequently exposed to regulated noise, cold working conditions also exposed to smells that are within the guidelines
  • Possible exposure extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, fumes or airborne particles
  • While performing the duties of this job, you will be required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear and see.
  • Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 100 pounds) during the workday
  • Personal protective equipment is required on a regular basis, which may include a hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, gloves and other required protective equipment as required.
