Payload Mechanical Design Engineer - Entry Level
Company:

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) seeks a Payload Mechanical Design Engineer - Entry Level for our team in El Segundo, California.
The Payload Mechanical Engineering group needs a Payload Mechanical Design Engineer with technical knowledge and relevant experience for payload mechanical engineering, CAD design processes and techniques, and RF transmission line design and products
This individual assists to develop, integrate and document structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the spacecraft system design. They develop, maintain and modify basic structural and interior payload system and component designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle. This engineer understands RF cable and waveguide routing methods and design criteria for RF systems and components to meet requirements and specifications. They assist with supplier development, test and production activities and coordination with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals. This person supports investigation of anomalous issues and supports resolution and corrective actions and works under general supervision.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Mechanical Design using CAD application
  • RF Waveguide and cable routing using CAD application
  • Detail documentation for payload mechanical engineering
  • Support of manufacturing activities for payload engineering
  • Coordinating requirements between multiple functional groups

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.
* This worksite participates in Boeing's 9/80 schedule rotation. 9/80 is a rotation in which employees can work 9 hour shifts, 8 days per pay period (bi-weekly) and receive every other Friday off.*
This position requires a U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance/SCI (U.S. Citizenship Required). An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance/SCI Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
  • Experience with 3D solid modeling software applications (e.g. Creo, NX, Catia)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Active or Ability to obtain Top Secret Clearance/SCI post-start
  • Experience as a Mechanical Engineer in a production environment
  • Experience working with RF Communication systems
  • Experience with CREO Parametric CAD application
