Amentum is seeking a Safety Manager to join our team to support the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command. The selected candidate will oversee system safety engineering activities for RTS systems and manage safety operations in support of research, development, and test activities for the Reagan Test Site Operations, Sustainment, Improvement, and Engineering (ROSIE) contract.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage RTS safety systems operations and supervise maintenance to support all RTS missions.
  • Conduct system safety analyses, risk assessments, and engineering evaluations related to RTS programs.
  • Review engineering change proposals, mishap reports, deviation requests, and failure data for safety risks and ensure potential hazards are mitigated.
  • Maintain compliance with DoD, contract-specific safety requirements, and corporate safety policies, ensuring operational safety across all mission phases.
  • Proactively identify, assess, and resolve safety hazards, and provide safety guidance to key stakeholders.
  • Prepare and present safety assessment reports, findings, and associated corrective action recommendations.
  • Work closely with leadership to define safety strategies and improve processes to enhance operational performance.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or similar technical field.
  • 8 years of experience performing or managing safety engineering activities for complex systems.
  • 5 years of management experience related to system safety.
  • Advanced knowledge of engineering safety techniques, hazard analysis, and system risk mitigation.
  • Superior ability to communicate effectively in oral and written formats and engage cross-functional teams in collaborative problem-solving.
  • Proven organizational skills to manage multiple responsibilities and maintain safety-first solutions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have an active Secret clearance at time of application and the ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance.
