JOB SUMMARY
The Riverside Transit Agency is recruiting for our Stops and Zones Groundskeeper position in the Maintenance Department.
Applicants must be available to work all weekdays, including weekends, holidays, and all shifts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential job duties include but not limited to:
  • Removing or replacing bus stop signs and related material such as posts, information signs
  • Painting curbs at bus zone locations; placing
  • Removing or repairing bus benches
  • Light duty general labor repairs
  • Maintenance of landscaping and the maintenance and upkeep of bus shelters
  • Other related duties as required

QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
One year "general Labor" experience required. Experience as a carpenter, plumber or mason desirable. Must be able to perform simple mathematical calculations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION
At the time of application:
A current, valid, and non-restricted Class C Driver's License is required. Additionally, a DMV Driver's Record Report printout (issued not more than 30 days prior to date of application) must be provided with the application. You must obtain a DRIVER'S RECORD REPORT the DMV kiosk/online history printout process.
Your established driving history must be clear of the following:
1) any suspensions within the past five (5) years;
2) may not have more than three (3) points within the past three (3) years;
3) no two (2) point violations within the past three (3) years.
No accidents which the applicant contributed to cause within 3 years from your application date.
Have appeared in court as required.
SELECTION PROCEDURES
Applications and driving records will be evaluated and only qualified applicants will be invited to participate in the selection process which includes:
  • Driving record review (pass/fail).
  • Written Exam (pass/fail).
  • Final ranking is determined by the oral interview examination (100% weight).
The selection procedures may change depending on the needs of the Agency; if such changes apply, qualified applicants will be notified prior to the administration of examinations.

The Riverside Transit Agency offers an attractive benefits package. Maintenance employees and Coach Operators are Union members and receive the following benefits:
  • The Riverside Transit Agency contracts with the California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS) to administer the retirement benefits. The current benefit factor formula for all new hires is 2% at 62. Employees with previous CalPERS membership or membership with another employer who has established reciprocity with CalPERS may be eligible for the 2% at 55 benefit factor formula.
  • Medical available to employees at minimal cost with a contribution toward dependent coverage, Chiro/Acupuncture/Vision benefits included with Medical Insurance.
