Position may be required to work in Irvine, CA or Anaheim, CA

Hourly Rate: $24.51/hour - $32.62/hour (Based on transit experience) or in accordance with your CBA

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Must be minimum 21 years of age
  • 3 years verifiable valid Drivers license
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a CA CDL class B license with passenger endorsement
  • Must have clean driving record – DMV printout required for the last 10 years
  • Must have stable work history

Key Accountabilities:

Customer Service

  • Ensure customers feel welcome
  • Effectively communicate with passengers especially in the event of service disruptions
  • Provide passengers with assistance as needed
  • Accommodate passengers with information such as schedule, guidance, ect.

Safety

  • Ensure safe on-road operations while maintaining on-time performance
  • Familiarity with assigned routing and detours
  • Awareness of ADA Policies and Procedures
  • Understanding of ADA Compliance
  • Proper operation of all wheelchair lifts, for each bus model
  • Report immediately to dispatch any vehicular accident or passenger incident and follow the incident and accident reporting procedures
  • Comply with all requirements of the Road Traffic Safety Management System
  • Comply with the rules, laws and regulations relating to road safety
  • Report any situation posing a risk to road safety to supervisor
  • Promote road safety when driving a vehicle

Operations

  • Collect the prescribed fares and notify dispatch of any type of fare evasion or fraud
  • Perform pre and post trip inspections and enter all defects into the ZONAR system
  • Follow exact deadhead routing and their assigned revenue service routes
  • Depart the start of each route exactly on-time and never operate ahead of schedule
  • Report any bunching of buses or other problems that may disrupt scheduled service
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Drug and alcohol screening: Employment contingent upon passing pre-employment drug and alcohol screen. Also, contingent upon receiving a favorable background check. Must pass a physical examination.
