Job description

POSITIONS AVAILABLE:

  • One position supporting Spanish speaking families


WORK SCHEDULE: 20 hours per week

  • September - May; Hours will be primarily worked during the student school year
  • June - August; Additional hours may be requested during the summer months


SALARY: $25 per hour (non-negotiable)

Job Description: The Cultural Liaison serves as a bridge between RPS and families by supporting communication, strengthening relationships, and ensuring culturally responsive engagement.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate parent/caregiver language-group meetings as needed
  • Plan meeting agendas and topics
  • Facilitate discussions and gather feedback
  • Coordinate meals, childcare, and transportation as needed
  • Build strong connections with district and school partners, including the Newcomer Family Navigator, Family Engagement Liaisons, Interpreters, and other support staff
  • Build connections with community partners supporting students and families
  • Organize mentorship opportunities
  • Develop and maintain a distribution list of parent and caregiver contact information
  • Communicate regularly with families using TalkingPoints, email, and other family-preferred communication methods
  • Track connections with families and initiative outreach and support when needs arise
  • Keep necessary records to meet funding requirements and generate corresponding reports


Qualifications:

  • Strong familiarity with associated cultural practices, norms, and community networks
