What are RPDs?

RPDs, or Removable Partial Dentures, are dental prostheses used to replace missing teeth for individuals who still have some natural teeth remaining. They consist of replacement teeth attached to a gum-colored plastic base, which is sometimes connected by a metal framework that holds the denture in place in the mouth. RPDs help restore both function and aesthetics, making it easier to chew, speak, and maintain facial structure. They are designed to be taken out and put back into the mouth by the patient, offering a flexible solution for partial tooth loss.
