What is RPA in banking?

RPA, or Robotic Process Automation, in banking refers to the use of software robots or 'bots' to automate repetitive, rule-based tasks traditionally performed by humans. In the banking sector, RPA can streamline processes such as account opening, KYC verification, loan processing, compliance checks, and transaction monitoring. By implementing RPA, banks can reduce operational costs, minimize human errors, speed up service delivery, and allow employees to focus on more strategic tasks. RPA also helps improve customer satisfaction by enabling faster and more accurate services.

Is AI replacing RPA?

In RPA roles within banking, AI is increasingly integrated to enhance automation capabilities, but it is not replacing RPA entirely. Instead, AI complements RPA by enabling more complex decision-making and cognitive tasks, making automation more intelligent. RPA remains essential for rule-based, repetitive processes, while AI expands automation scope with advanced analytics and natural language processing.
