How we LEAD:
UMG is currently seeking a person to fill the role of Royalty Process Innovation Group Manager for the UMG Royalties & Copyright Department. The Royalty Process Innovation Group Manager is responsible for driving process efficiency, automation, and continuous improvement across royalty data workflows. This role partners closely with cross-functional teams to design, build, maintain, and govern automated solutions that support accurate reporting, compliance, and month-end operations. The position plays a key role in innovation, audit readiness, and operational stability within the royalty ecosystem.
How you'll CREATE:
In this role, the Manager will have the following responsibilities:
Process Improvement & Automation:
  • Design, build, and maintain automated solutions to streamline royalty data workflows and reporting processes.
  • Develop and modify Raw Data Warehouse queries in Business Objects to support operational reporting and analytical needs.
  • Build and enhance Power Automate flows to improve efficiency and reduce manual processes.
  • Create and maintain Power Query transformations and Power BI visualizations.
  • Apply moderate Visual Basic (Excel macros) to support automation initiatives

Testing, Maintenance & Support
  • Validate, test, and document all automations prior to deployment
  • Perform ongoing monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance of existing automations
  • Serve as backup support for pre-month-end, month-end, and post-month-end Raw Data Warehouse reporting and data validation tasks within Business Objects.
  • Ensure business continuity by maintaining stable and reliable automated processes

Governance, Compliance & Communication:
  • Maintain and distribute Raw Data Warehouse notifications via SharePoint, including managing publications
  • Assist in ensuring all compliance and control requirements related to Raw Data Warehouse from Business Objects are met
  • Support GCH and Pre-GCH digital audit reconciliations
  • Collaborate with audit, compliance, and royalty teams to ensure data accuracy and process integrity

  • Experience with process automation and data workflows
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy and compliance

  • Knowledge of UMG Royalty Artist domestic workflow process with experience setting up royalty accounts, article linking, and statement creation preferred
  • Must be able to prioritize and delegate staff workload to meet deadlines
  • Ability to effectively motivate, teach and manage staff
  • Knowledge of TRACS (AS400 systems), Business Objects, and Power Apps preferred
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborative nature
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience working in music royalties preferred

Education:
  • 4-year college degree preferred
