Job Title: Audit Supervisor/Manager
Reports To: Audit Director
FLSA Status: Exempt
Department: Audit - Music Industry
Your Role:
Excellent opportunity for an audit professional with music industry experience. Our client is seeking a highly motivated audit supervisor/manager with 8+ years of experience to join their music royalty audit practice. The audit supervisor/manager will be responsible for overseeing a team of auditors in executing royalty compliance procedures of record labels and music publishers on behalf of our diverse client base which includes unions/guilds, recording artists and songwriters. Additional responsibilities will include developing/managing the audit program and delegating and reviewing staff work. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required as well as the ability to work with others.
What will you do?
  • Oversee all aspects of the audit process for record label and music publisher audits
  • Planning and conducting fieldwork procedures
  • Designing audit programs tailored specifically to individual client needs
  • Review, summarize and interpret financial provisions in complex music industry agreements
  • Prepare databases and analyzing large datasets using Excel and/or Access/SQL
  • Analyzing calculations presented on royalty statements for compliance with financial terms in the relevant agreements
  • Identify potential issue areas and calculate/quantify understated royalties as per agreement terms
  • Train, supervise and review staff testwork
  • Communicate effectively with auditees, clients and other third parties
  • Prepare written audit report complete with supporting schedules and claim calculations
  • Assist with audit settlement process
  • Assist Director with audit budgets and practice development
