Overview

Roto-Rooter operates businesses in over 100 company-owned branches, independent contractor territories, and approximately 400 independent franchise operations, serving approximately 90% of the U.S. population and parts of Canada.
Drain Service Technician

First year Roto-Rooter drain service technicians can expect top-pay, earning $55,000, on average. Pay increases quickly with each year of experience.
Roto-Rooter provides an initial 12 weeks of paid sewer and drain service training, plus continuing training is available if you want to learn the plumbing trade and pursue a journeyman plumber's license.
Responsibilities
  • Roto-Rooter drain service technicians use their skills to provide solutions to sewer and drain problems.
  • A service call begins with diagnosing problems then providing cost estimates to close the sale.
  • Unclog and clean sewers and drains for the customer using Roto-Rooter equipment and tools.
  • Document estimates and invoices, both in writing and on a provided smartphone.
  • Collect payment and move on to the next service call.

Requirements
  • A valid driver's license
  • Effective communication skills.
  • A mechanical aptitude is desirable, but prior experience is not necessary.
